Cliché: I don’t need to really explain this one…was it a typical story that followed very similar storylines that many authors over use?----> 1 out of 5, I didn't feel like she wrote a cliché since I never once have read a book involving this shifter-love scenario. It was rather refreshing too!

Humor Me: How funny was the story? The dialog between the characters?----> 4 out of 5, Kristen writes with enough sarcasm, humor, and quirky personalities that I never once lost my smile when reading throughout this entire book.

Sizzle & Burn: How romantic was the story? And it is also the scale of how steamy things get between the characters that fall in love.----> 4 out of 5, while there is no highly sexualized scenes, which I prefer, the author was still able to write with just enough sizzle between the characters.

Called It!: This one is about the mystery behind the crime, situation, or hardship that is going on in the story. Did the author surprise me or did I know who the bad guy/antagonist was all along?----> 2 out of 5, I did not call it. I thought this book was going to be very straight forward with finding out his to-be-bride was a criminal as the major problem to be solve. Nope. I was wrong and gladly shocked with the twist the author presented.

Exciting Extras: Did I fall in love with the background characters? How badly did I want to learn or hear more about the story of the main characters friend(s) or family member(s)?----> 5 out of 5, Kristen writes so good that she not only creates a world for the reader to fall into, but also characters that the reader connects to. I am really excited to see what happens between her brother and the bartender!

What! It’s Over!: This one is rating how badly I want to read the next book in the series----> 4 out of 5, I really want to read the next installment of this series!

Kristen Painter has an amazing skill to draw the reader into her world. From the minute ivy walks into the bar, I loved her. She rides a motorcycle, is tattooed, has ‘strong shoulders’ and takes crap from no-one. Contrast that with her sense of duty and doing what’s right for her pack, and you have a woman I’d love to meet in real life. Just saying 🙂

All the characters are 3-dimensional, even children and baddies. I’m very much in love with Hank, the lead love interest. He’s a werewolf sheriff, dutiful, trained to be a fighter and such a gentleman. Swoon….

There’s unfortunately no sex scene which doesn’t detract from the fully rounded romance story, although I personally prefer to at least look through the keyhole into my characters’ bedroom. Just sayin’.

I was particularly impressed by a really impressive plot twist that I really didn’t see coming. Painter builds up expectations and brings them crashing down on the reader. Just awesome.

Course I’ve gone and downloaded the next book which features Nick the Gargoyle plus you get to purchase the Audible version for $1.99. This deal isn’t available for The Werewolf Meets His Match so I didn’t get to listen to the audio book.

I’m really looking forward to exploring the world of Nocturne Falls in more detail!
Second Book of the Nocturne Falls series and I loved it just as much as I loved the first one. This one was different, focusing on completely different characters in the town, but I liked that you could still read a little about the characters in the first book (so you can read this one first or whenever, though it does happen AFTER the first book so there is a HUGE spoiler in that you will end up knowing how the first book ends.). Again the story was captivating and really good. I liked that although it's another Paranormal romance, it had different factors and thus made it a different. I also liked that the books are told in both the main characters POV (Ivy in one chapter, Hank in the next) it was the same in the first book and I liked it because you get to see both sides of the relationship in a sense. You also get to meet more characters in Nocturne Falls which is great. Like Delaney, Ivy is a strong female character and I love that about these series. I can see Ivy and Delaney being good friends later on in the series and since each book takes place in the same town with the characters re-occurring I really really hope we can see that.

The plot line covered some darker points like Ivy's past, which I won't go into for fear of spoilers, but overall it was good. Like the other book, I loved that it was romantic without being overly sexual. I thought it was interesting that the romance between the two really blossomed quickly despite the arranged marriage and all the skeptical thoughts both Ivy and Hank had towards each other in the beginning. But it worked and I really liked it. I feel like there should be another book based on this couple as it seemed like Ivy's issues resolved a little too quickly despite the nature of the main antagonist. I felt like it ended too soon.

I'm excited to see what Kristen Painter will come out with in the 3rd book. There are so many characters and you get to meet them more in this book. I love that Painter has made it so that even if you finish their book, the characters still pop in and out of the other books and so you get glimpses of what they're up to after they get their HEA and so in a sense it's a continuation of that.

Definitely worth a read if you like romance novels that leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. )
